Artist's Statement
The inspiration for my paintings lies in the resilience of the older
person, the innocence of the child, and the awe-invoking splendor and
wonder of the outdoors. It is my intention to create paintings in oil
that show the beauty and dignity of my subjects -- children, the
elderly, and
nature.
Through proper tonal value, composition, shape, and color, each
painting embodies the authenticity and integrity of my subject. It is
my hope that my paintings will evoke the same feelings of grace, joy,
gratitude, and
compassion in your heart
as my encounters with them stirred in my own. Behind each of my
paintings, there is a story which sparked my desire to capture it with
paint on canvas or linen. I shall not share them with you however, unless you
ask, as you have the right to bring your own story to the viewing.
